Our new home. And we are certainly proud of the transformation this 1980s built former gallery has undergone. With colour-blocking and quirky details throughout, this purpose-built space is bursting with personality.

Our home needed to meet several practical needs including; a meeting space for up to 8 people, materials library, construction office, design office, tea kitchen, touchdown space for visitors, and a quiet meeting space with a more intimate atmosphere. A lot to squeeze into 110m2. Critical to the flow between spaces is the pod, dividing the main room between the large meeting area and designers’ studio, with our materials library, construction office and tea kitchen all tucked to the left. Spatially the office allows for natural collaboration between both the construction and design teams with a large enough space to facilitate team lunches and studio presentations.

Working with the original bones of the building, the existing industrial elements of exposed ceiling beams, mechanical ducting, exposed brickwork and polished concrete floors are held in gorgeous contrast by the luxurious textural finish of the viola marble, velvet & felt curtains, and chunky wool rug. A central sheer layers & defines a touchdown space for visitors and encourages a sense of peace and serenity. We incorporated a satisfying range of textures throughout with the careful curation of furniture, rugs, painted brickwork, a pinboard, and textured panelling for our design display shelving.

The final element critical to the cohesion of our purpose-designed zones is the joinery. The custom designed joinery uses a range of finishes to incorporate texture, visual interest and considered detailing. Micro elements from the curved form of table legs, bullnose to the stone benchtop and gentle arc of the tabletop pair with the macro elements of the flowing, curved curtain, rug and exposed mechanical ductwork. The combined picture is a carefully considered environment where focus, creativity, and excitement all find a place to blend and bloom.
